Welcome to this week's newsletter from Zimmer and Peacock. This newsletter is a mixture of news, stories and tech notes from Zimmer and Peacock. If you want to subscribe to our newsletter or have any questions regarding Zimmer and Peacock and our passion for biosensor technologies please don't hesitate to contact us.
Screen Printed Electrodes for start-ups
At Zimmer and Peacock we love start-ups in the biosensor and medical space. Our size, team, management structure, standard products and services make us an ideal fit for companies starting on the path of commercializing a biosensor and/or a medical diagnostic platform.
In this photo a start-up needed our sensors for a show and tell with investors, and so the ZP order team made sure they were packaged so as to present a wow factor for the investors.
Contact ZP to chat about us being your partners for the development and manufacturing of your sensor, biosensors and medical diagnostics.
Zimmer and Peacock connects to any electrochemical cell
Zimmer and Peacock is the natural place for scientists and engineers looking to develop or manufacture biosensors, sensors and medical diagnostics.
We have now made our AnaPot sensor/biosensor/medical diagnostic reader generically applicable to anyone who is looking for a state of the art, hand-sized USB powered potentiostat/impedance spectrometer.
Though a simple addition to our extensive product line, the AnaPot Generic Electrochemical Cell Cable allows the AnaPot Potentiostat/Impedance Spectrometer to be attached to any electrochemical cell for use in: analytical electrochemistry, batter studies, fuel cell studies and sensor development.
Electrodes, microfluidics and reagents
In this video Zimmer and Peacock show some of the elements that may be necessary for a medical diagnostic which includes: sensors, microfluidics and blister packs for reagents.

Zimmer and Peacock see that sensors are a critical part of some Social and Commercial Revolutions, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Sensor Web and the growth of the In-vitro Diagnostics Market (IVD).
At Zimmer and Peacock we are partnering with academia and industry to ensure that there are enough suitable and commercially available sensors to meet the requirements of these new and growing markets. As part of this we provide a range of products and services including sensors, the necessary hardware and customer specific Android and iOS applications, IP generation and scalable manufacturing. Part of the remit at Zimmer&Peacock is to innovate around our collaborator's inventions and to help bring ideas to market.
Sputtered Electrodes - Reproducibility
At Zimmer and Peacock we are pragmatic when it comes to biosensors and medical diagnostic development, we will use the manufacturing technology that is best in terms of performance and cost, and that is why we use both thin and thick film techniques when preparing electrodes for our customers.
This image is from some Micrux sensors and show that the RSD for these sputtered sensors was approximately 5 %.
Please visit our website to find out about think film electrodes, thick film electrodes and manufacturing services from Zimmer and Peacock.
How to clean a sputtered electrode?
Metal-based thin-film (micro)electrodes require a surface pre-cleaning in order to remove any particles or dust, that would otherwise effect the electrochemical performance; repeatability, reproducibility and shelf-life.
Please visit our website to download the cleaning protocol for thin film/sputtered electrodes.
Biosensor and Medical Development and Manufacturing - Switzerland
Zimmer and Peacock are partnered with Valve Technology AG to bring our biosensors and medical diagnostic expertise to the Swiss biosensor and medical diagnostics community.
We are meeting with a number of partners during the weeks starting the 4 September 2017, if you would like to meet please contact us and we'll be happy to meet and chat about development and manufacturing.
Magnetic Beads - enhancing sample concentration and increasing signal
In this video we show the principle of using magnetic beads in an electrochemical assay to concentrate sample and therefore to increase the signal.
Zimmer and Peacock provide magnetic beads for electrochemical assays
Zimmer and Peacock provide Abraxis magnetic beads for electrochemical assays as we see magnetic beads as one of the most efficient way of concentrating the sample next to the electrode in an electrochemical assay.
Finding the right pump for your application and specification
At Zimmer and Peacock we distribute the Shenchen Precision Co. Ltd pumps. In this video we show you a great tool on their website to help choose the right pump for your application.
